Welcome to St. John’s
An Anglican Church in Canton, Ohio
Our Vision
St. John’s is a community where ordinary people are changed by the grace and goodness of Jesus Christ to become faithful members of His church and humble servants to a hurting world. We remain grounded in Jesus Christ by centering our life together in His Word & Sacraments.
What to Expect
We worship at 10:30 a.m. on Sunday mornings at 1115 South Main Street in North Canton, Ohio 44720. Dress is casual to business casual. We have many children in our church, and they remain with their parents throughout the service.
What We Believe
Apostolic Faith
The Church is obliged continually, and particularly in times of renewal or reformation, to return to "the faith once delivered to the saints." At St. John's, we strive to hear God's Word as it comes to us in the Bible, and to read, mark, learn, and inwardly digest the faith given to the apostles, handed down in our scriptures and transmitted through the ages of church history. With every parish in the Anglican Church of North America, We confess Jesus Christ to be the Way, the Truth, and the Life: no one comes to the Father but by Him.
One Canon
We affirm one biblical canon including thirty-nine books of the Old Testament and twenty-seven books of the New Testament. The Bible is God's Holy Word, and we are subject to its ultimate authority in all matters of faith and practice.
Three Creeds
We adhere to classic, orthodox Christianity as articulated in the Apostles, Nicene, and Athanasian Creeds. While the Bible is God's Word and has ultimate authority, the early creeds are essential guides for faithful biblical interpretation.
Four Councils
At the Councils of Nicea, Constantinople, Ephesus, and Chalcedon the biblical canon and the early creeds were established as the boundaries for orthodox Christianity. They serve as essential guides in matters of faith and practice.
Members of a Global Family
St. John’s is a parish of the Anglican Church of North America, and through our affiliation with the GAFCON movement, we are part of the worldwide Anglican Communion, one of the largest christian traditions in the world. We do not embrace a distinct version of Christianity, but a distinct way of being a “Mere Christian,” at the same time evangelical, apostolic, catholic, reformed, and Spirit-filled.

The Rev. Canon Dr. Bryan Hollon
Rector & Canon Theologian to the ADGLBryan and his wife, Suzanne, gathered a group of people to plant St. John’s in the Spring of 2017. In addition to teaching and preaching, he provides general leadership and oversight of the various ministries at St. John’s. He is especially passionate about catechetical ministry and is currently working to establish a catechetical school at St. John’s.
Bryan continues to work with several other local organizations in addition to St. John’s. He is the Director of the C.S. Lewis Institute of Northeast Ohio and Professor of Theology at Malone University. Bryan and Suzanne met at Baylor University and were married in 1993. They have three children in their teens and twenties.
Bryan enjoys hiking, biking, reading, and spending time with his family. He and Suzanne are both from Texas, and though they have lived in Ohio since 2006, they still miss family in Texas as well as good Mexican food and Barbeque.
