Welcome to St. John’s
An Anglican Church in Canton, Ohio
Sunday Worship at 10:30 am; Catechesis at 9:00 am
St. John’s is a community where ordinary people are changed by the grace and goodness of Jesus Christ to become faithful members of His church and humble servants to a hurting world. We remain grounded in Jesus Christ by centering our life together in His Word & Sacraments.
What to Expect
We worship at 10:30 a.m. on Sunday mornings at 1115 South Main Street in North Canton, Ohio 44720. Catechesis for Adults and Children begins at 9:00 a.m. Dress is casual to business casual. We have many children in our church, and they remain with their parents throughout the service.
What We Believe
The Church is obliged continually, and particularly in times of renewal or reformation, to return to "the faith once delivered to the saints." At St. John's, we strive to hear God's Word as it comes to us in the Bible, and to read, mark, learn, and inwardly digest the faith given to the apostles, handed down in our scriptures and transmitted through the ages of church history. With every parish in the Anglican Church of North America, We confess Jesus Christ to be the Way, the Truth, and the Life: no one comes to the Father but by Him.
We affirm one biblical canon including thirty-nine books of the Old Testament and twenty-seven books of the New Testament. The Bible is God's Holy Word, and we are subject to its ultimate authority in all matters of faith and practice.
We adhere to classic, orthodox Christianity as articulated in the Apostles, Nicene, and Athanasian Creeds. While the Bible is God's Word and has ultimate authority, the early creeds are essential guides for faithful biblical interpretation.
At the Councils of Nicea, Constantinople, Ephesus, and Chalcedon the biblical canon and the early creeds were established as the boundaries for orthodox Christianity. They serve as essential guides in matters of faith and practice.
Members of a Global Family
St. John’s is a parish of the Anglican Church of North America, and through our affiliation with the GAFCON movement, we are part of the worldwide Anglican Communion, one of the largest christian traditions in the world. We do not embrace a distinct version of Christianity, but a distinct way of being a “Mere Christian,” at the same time evangelical, apostolic, catholic, reformed, and Spirit-filled.

The Final Judgment – Surprising Good News
We are so close to the end of the Church calendar where the readings have shifted towards an apocalyptic theme leading us towards Advent. All of the readings specifically drew us towards the reality of God’s judgment. What does Jesus tell us about the coming of the final day, and what is the surprising Good News we can hold onto?
