A Message from Fr. Bryan

Dear Friends in Christ,

The Right Reverend Mark Engel, our new Bishop, was with us this past Sunday to preside and preach. He and his wife Terry stayed after the service for a time of fellowship, and everyone enjoyed getting to know them better. If you missed the service, you can watch his sermon by clicking below. Bp. Mark is an experienced and gifted preacher, and it was wonderful to have him with us and to have him close by for future visits.

Despite all of the difficulties of this past year, our church has grown, and our people have proved themselves to be deeply committed to the body of Christ gathered at St. John's. Suzanne and I are immensely grateful and enthusiastic about our future. For those of you who may have missed our service on Sunday, Bob Archibald (Senior Warden) and I announced that St. John's is now in a position where we can afford to hire a full-time Rector to lead us into the future. Suzanne and I are just as committed to this church as ever, but it is time for me to step back so that we can find a new Senior Pastor to devote his undivided attention to the parish.

As most of you know, I've been dividing my time between Malone University (my full-time job), St. John's, and the C.S. Lewis Institute. I've always known that this was not sustainable, and I am grateful that we are now able to move to the next phase. St. John's is currently in the process of organizing a search committee, drafting a congregational profile, and putting together a job description so that we can begin the search. You can expect more information from Bob Archibald, our Senior Warden, as we move forward with the search process. Also, if you have any questions for me, please don't hesitate to reach out at 330-685-5510.

I hope you have a blessed week, and I look forward to seeing you Sunday!

Grace & Peace,
Bryan+
