A Message from Chad

Dear Friends in Christ,

I hope you all enjoyed your July 4th holiday as much as I did! It was wonderful to still be able to see so many of you all on Sunday. We had a busy Sunday, but it was a lot of fun to do it together. Dale Boston helped to kick off our regular catechesis hour with a virtual “trip” to Quito Ecuador. We learned about the ministry in that city called For His Children which works with orphaned and disabled children. It was a wonderful experience, and we are thankful they were able to take the time to be with us on Sunday before church. If you wanted to learn more about them or find out ways to get involved with For His Children, Dale will be the man to talk to. Until then, here is their website which has some more material for your consideration.

On this note, I also wanted to remind you all that catechesis will continue this Sunday at 9am. This week, we will begin separating the children from the adults for more specialized catechesis. The adults will meet with David Beer, and the children will meet with Maggie Archibald. If you have any interest in serving our children with Maggie, she would readily welcome the help.

We have a lot of good things going for us right now, and a lot of exciting things to come for our congregation. As you pray the Proper 9 collect for the next few days, remember that it is Jesus Christ who has initiated these good things in our midst. And not only has he started them, but he works on our behalf to sustain them each and every week we gather together. Pray this week that he would continue to empower us for good work, that St. John’s might continue to be a place where we can give God all glory and honor through them. After all, that is what we are here for.

Grant us, O Lord, we pray, the spirit to think and do always those things that are right, that we, who can do no good thing apart from you, may by you be enabled to live according to your will; through Jesus Christ our Lord, who lives and reigns with you and the Holy Spirit, one God, forever and ever. Amen.

Have a blessed rest of your week.

God's Peace,
Chad Sanner
