| | We've got some exciting things happening in the next few weeks at St. John's. This coming Saturday, November 16th, we will be working to prepare the floors in our sanctuary for carpet, which should be installed sometime soon. We will also paint the walls of the chancel area (the space around the altar) in preparation for a large hanging cross (behind the altar) and seasonal banners, which will add some beauty and color to our worship space.
|
Our worship team is working on several creative ventures, which will begin on the first Sunday of advent. Though I won't go into details now, these developments should add even more interest and beauty to our already wonderful time together on Sundays. We are especially excited as we prepare for a new liturgical year and hope that your anticipation is growing, as well.

As you will notice from Fr. Sean's "For All the Saints" post below, we remember one of Anglicanism's greatest evangelical preachers this week. His name was Charles Simeon, and we'll leave you with a collect written to commemorate his death.

| | O loving God, who order all things by your unerring wisdom and Unbounded love: Grant us in all things to see your hand; that, following the example and teaching of your servant Charles Simeon, we may walk with Christ in all simplicity, and serve you with a quiet and contented mind; through Jesus Christ our Lord, who lives and reigns with you and the Holy Spirit, one God, now and for ever. |
