Dear friends in Christ,

A big thanks to everyone who participated in our potluck and business meeting this past Sunday. It was fun to be together and good to walk through some of our plans for the future. Since Archbishop Foley Beach+ will be with us for confirmations in just a few months, we will have a sign-up form available at church beginning this coming Sunday, February 23rd. If you are considering confirmation and want to speak with me first, please let me know, since I would love to talk with you.

If you've been participating in adult catechesis, then you may want to prepare for this coming Sunday by reading questions 244 - 255 in the ACNA Catechism, which you can access by clicking on this link. Our discussions have been very active, so I will select just a few of the questions in this section to focus on. If you have any thoughts or queries about specific questions, please come ready to introduce your thoughts to the rest of us.

Also, the Eagle & Child reading group has just wrapped up our study of C.S. Lewis' Abolition of Man, and we will begin a new lenten study in two weeks. This time, we are going to read through a book of poetry by an Anglican Priest and poet named Malcolm Guite. The book is titled Word in the Wilderness, and you can purchase it at this link. Some of the poems are from Guite himself and others are classic selections from a variety of well-known poets. Even if you don't plan to join our reading group, the book will make a wonderful resource for lenten meditations, so you may want to pick up a copy.

Finally, don't forget that we have a "parent's night out" this Friday, February 21st from 6:00 pm - 9:00 pm. Also, we have an Ash Wednesday service next Wednesday at 6:30 pm. Be sure to invite friends and family whose churches may not have a service on that day.

I look forward to seeing you all soon!

The Peace of Christ,
Bryan+
