A Message from Fr. Bryan

Dear Friends in Christ,

I hope you are all well and enduring this strange and unprecedented situation with a sense of peace and God's goodness. Though life may change in some ways as a result of this pandemic, remember that this really will pass.

Suzanne and I have been in touch with many of you, and we are aware of several church members who've lost jobs in the past week due to temporary downsizing as the economy has been essentially shut down. Please pray for each other. Stay in touch and continue to encourage each other during this uncertain time. Suzanne sent out a list of prayer concerns and will continue to do so. And if you are experiencing some difficulty and have immediate needs, please let me know so that I can share those needs with the community.

Just as we did last week, we will continue with Evening Prayer on Wednesdays (tonight) and Morning Prayer on Sundays. I will also send out another Spiritual Communion liturgy with video commentary on the weekly readings. Be sure to look for that document before Sunday morning.

Although I will send another message tonight with the Evening Prayer liturgy and a link to the Zoom conference, you can already access the liturgy here and the Zoom link here. I'll finish with prayer #123 from our new BCP.

Almighty God, our strong tower of defense in time of trouble: We offer you praise and heartfelt thanks for our deliverance from the dangers which lately surrounded us and for your gracious gift of peace. We confess that your goodness alone has preserved us; and we ask you still to continue your mercies toward us, that we may always know and acknowledge you as our Savior and mighty Deliverer; through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.
Grace & Peace,

Spiritual Communion?

Spiritual Communion?
In the absence of a weekly Eucharistic Service, Bishop Jim Hobby of the Diocese of Pittsburgh has offered the following advice to families who may want to participate in "spiritual communion" in the context of their own home.
