| | | A Message from Fr. Bryan |
On Monday, I forwarded two "pastoral letters" from Bp. Grant LeMarquand regarding church life during this Covid-19 situation to all of our members in the BreezeCHMS database. The first letter makes a good case for the Christian virtue of patience while the second encourages us to continue meeting virtually for the time being. If you are interested, you can read them by clicking here and here.
Although we are going to continue meeting as we have been until we hear otherwise from our Bishop, we can be encouraged by the fact that none of our members have become ill with the Corona Virus, and our community has held together very well over the last few months. By the way, David Beer sent me a very funny YouTube video featuring a skit from SNL about church meetings via Zoom. If you want a good laugh, click here. I suspect that we will look back on this time in our church's life with fond memories and a sense of humor one day. God does work in mysterious ways!
Our schedule for bread distribution this week will continue as it did last week, so please know that the church doors will be open at the following dates and times: (1) Wednesday from 1:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. & (2) Thursday from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. & (3) Saturday from 10:00 a.m. to noon. Thanks to everyone who helped with the Urban Ark ministry this past Sunday. We were able to provide over 90 meals to families in need, and the offering was much appreciated. Our old friend Ryan Logan, who now works for Urban Ark, called me yesterday to schedule another opportunity for St. John's in September. Ryan sends his greetings.
Finally, we've had good participation in St. John's Q&A, so you can find several new videos on our YouTube channel. I've provided a link to two of them below. I'll be in touch later this afternoon with links for Evening Prayer. Enjoy the Sunshine! |
