| | | | St. John's Schedule | | A Message from Fr. Bryan | I am excited to announce that our own Chad Sanner has just begun serving as St. John's Communications Coordinator. As you all know, Chad is working towards his Master of Divinity degree at Trinity School for Ministry in Ambridge, PA. Although he commutes to join us on Sundays, he will be handling much of our technology and communications related work from this point forward. This means that he will handle Live-streaming, video editing and posting, improving web content, preparing newsletters, and a number of other tasks. I'm grateful to have his help, so congratulate Chad when you get a chance.

Don't forget, confirmations are coming soon, on August 16th, and whether you are being confirmed or not, please have a look at our membership document, which includes a signature page. You can access the document at this link to review it, and I will bring copies of the signature page to church beginning this coming Sunday. I will collect these signature pages from this point forward in order to keep better records of our members.

I know that many of you are avid readers, like me, so I am going to provide more links to articles and books that I've been reading in future editions of this newsletter. The following link is to the review of a book that I recommend, by Yuval Levin. The book is titled A Time to Build, and it examines the current state of our society and suggests that we all need to focus more attention on building and supporting institutions that help our communities thrive. The essay is worthy of your time, and you may be interested in going further with the book.

Having preached on prayer from a variety of angles over the last few months, I am going to transition this coming Sunday and focus our attention on key prayers from the liturgies in our Book of Common Prayer. I'm excited to do this and look forward to seeing you all on Sunday.
